Cleanings and exams
A visit to check your teeth and gums and clean them, for adults and children.
The dentist checks your teeth, gums and bite, and shows you what she sees. Then the team cleans your teeth. How often you come back is the dentist's decision, based on how your teeth and gums are doing.

What happens at the visit
A routine visit is usually a single appointment. If your gums are inflamed, the dentist may recommend a deeper cleaning over two appointments.

Step 1: We talk
You tell us what worries you. You fill in your health history in the portal, never in a message.

Step 2: We check
The dentist checks teeth, gums and bite. She orders X-rays only when she thinks they are needed.

Step 4: We talk about next steps
If treatment is needed, you hear the options and the cost in writing.
Comfort, alternatives and aftercare
Comfort
A routine cleaning is usually done without numbing. If an area is sensitive, tell us: we can numb it, go slower and pause when you raise your hand.
If you decide to wait
Tartar and gum inflammation can build up over time. The dentist explains what she sees, and you decide.
After the visit
It is normal for your gums to feel tender for a day or two. If the soreness or bleeding does not go away, call us.
How it is billed
You get the cost in writing before we start. We never quote a price by text or phone before the dentist has seen your case.

Questions
How often should I come?
The dentist decides after checking your teeth and gums. For some people it is more often than for others.
Do I always need X-rays?
No. The dentist orders them when she needs to see what cannot be seen by eye, and she explains why.
Do you see children, and from what age?
Yes, from age three, with an adult who comes along. For younger children, we tell you who to see.
